According to BloombergNEF survey, in the context of governments supporting solar energy to mitigate climate change, the reversal of solar module prices may delay the construction of photovoltaic projects due to the sub stantial increase in the cost of polysilicon.
The prices of iron, aluminum, and copper have been soaring recently, and shipping costs have risen as well. The survey company BloombergNEF lowered its expectations for the construction of photovoltaic projects this year, and said that the rise in the price of polysilicon and other materials is one of the reasons.
However, Nitin Apte, CEO of Vena Energy, an Asian renewable energy operator, said that the continuous improvement in solar panel efficiency has partially offset the negative impact of the interruption of the long-term cost decline.
