Germany aims to generate 80 per cent of its electricity from renewables by 2030. Renewable energy is keyfor the country to become independent of gasenergyimports. New emergency regulations, agreed at the EU level and approved by the German cabinet, aim to accelerate the expansion of renewable energy by cutting some of paperwork and lengthy decision making and approval processes of wind and solar projects.
