1️⃣ Place the pad: Just stick the pad right under the hook.

2️⃣ Line up the hook: Slide the hook onto the pad, then screw it into the wood.

3️⃣ Lock it down: Set up the hook like you usually would, but make sure the pad stays flat as you tighten it.
